Insurance Issues
As an art auctioneer you require proper insurance protection for your solely-owned, jointly-owned and consigned estate property, any articles on your premises, during domestic and international transit, and for works at exhibits, auctions or on display.
Your insurance policy should include broad protection from the time the artwork is taken by you, from the owner, to the time it is returned, on a worldwide basis.
Special insurance clauses in your policy can provide for the option of returning your discovered and recovered property after the claim has been paid and settled.
Coverage protecting your business practice including business liability, liquor liability, automobile and umbrella liability and crime/theft protection is also recommended.
